Sharing Saved Locations from a Tread® with Other Tread® Users

You can share an address or location you have saved with another Tread® GPS navigator user.

To Share a Saved Location on your Tread® Navigator using a Memory Card:

1. Insert the microSD card into the Tread®

2. Touch Search

3. Touch Waypoints

4. Touch the Wrench icon

5. Touch Share

6. Select Memory Card

7. Touch Done

  • If you wish to change the name of the GPX file you can rename it before selecting Done.

8. Select a Location

9. Touch Done

10. The location has been sent to the memory card

Once the location has been sent the memory card must be removed and inserted into the device receiving the file.

To Import the File on the Receiving Device:

1. Touch Search

2. Touch Waypoints

3. Touch the Wrench icon

4. Touch Import

5. Select the files to import

6. Touch Import

The files will not be imported into your waypoints.

To Share a Saved Location on your Tread® via Bluetooth

1. Enable Bluetooth on both the sending and receiving device

  • Locations can only be sent via Bluetooth to the following devices:
    • BMW Motorrad Navigator V
    • BMW Motorrad Navigator VI
    • Tread® Series
    • zumo 395
    • zumo 396
    • zumo 590
    • zumo 595
    • zumo XT

2. Touch Search

3. Touch Waypoints

4. Touch the Wrench icon

5. Touch Share

 

6. Select Bluetooth

7. Touch Done

  • If you wish to change the name of the GPX file you can rename it before selecting Done.

8. Select a Location

9. Touch Done

10. Select a device

 

11. Touch OK


12. Touch Ok to confirm the passkey

13. The receiving device will display a message to pair the Tread®. Touch Yes

13. A confirmation message will appear. Touch OK

The location will now be found in the Saved places on the receiving device.

To Share a Saved Location on your Tread® Navigator Via the Tread® app:

1. Enable Bluetooth on the sending Tread®

2. Touch Search

3. Touch Waypoints

4. Touch the Wrench icon

5. Touch Share

6. Touch Garmin Tread®

7. Touch Done

  • If you wish to change the name of the GPX file you can rename it before selecting Done.

8. Select a Location

9. Touch Done

10. Touch OK

11. Touch Share in the Tread® App

  • You can use the sharing options on your phone to send the location to another user via email

12. The receiving user can then open the file with the Tread® app

     

13. The receiving user will touch Send in the Tread® app

The location will now be found in the Saved places on the receiving device.
