Apps Required to Use Voice Commands on the Garmin DriveSmart 65, 66, 76, 86 with Amazon Alexa

Amazon Alexa: 

To use Amazon Alexa services on the Garmin DriveSmart™ 65, Garmin DriveSmart™  66, Garmin DriveSmart™ 76, Garmin DriveSmart™ 86 with Amazon Alexa GPS navigators, you must download the Garmin Drive™ app on a compatible, Bluetooth-enabled iOS or Android smartphone with internet access.

As part of the setup process, the Garmin Drive app will prompt you to sign in to your Garmin and Amazon Alexa accounts, or to create new ones, and to connect the phone to the Garmin DriveSmart 65, Garmin DriveSmart 66, Garmin DriveSmart 76, and Garmin DriveSmart 86 with Amazon Alexa device via Bluetooth. 

The Amazon Alexa mobile app is not required to set up or use the Garmin DriveSmart 65, Garmin DriveSmart 66, Garmin DriveSmart 76, Garmin DriveSmart 86 with Amazon Alexa device. However, it is recommended to download the Amazon Alexa app to use other Alexa skills with the device, including music, audiobook or news playback, and interfacing with other Alexa-connected devices in your home. OK Garmin:

The Garmin Drive app is not required to use most OK Garmin phrases.  The Garmin Drive app is required for phone calls.
