Viewing Hunting Management Units for the eTrex 20(x), 22x, 30(x), 32x

Hunting Management Units (HMU) will not be turned on by default when the HuntView Plus is installed on the eTrex® 20, 20x, 22x, 30, 30x, or 32x outdoor handheld. Instructions for enabling the mapping are below as well as some helpful tips for viewing the Hunting Management Units on the Map page of the handheld.

Things to Keep in Mind

  • Hunting Management Units (HMU) have multiple names depending on the state chosen and may be displayed as Game Management Units (GMU), Wildlife Management Units (WMU), or Hunting Zones.

  • All Hunting Management Units are show with green lines if multiple units are selected at the same time it may be difficult to view the data.

  • Only Units available for the state will be shown. For example, there will not be an option for alligators in Montana.

  • Some states do not group all species into specific units. For example, Oregon has 4 units: Duck, Goose, Fall Turkey, and all other species are grouped together under WMU.

  • The unit number will display at the top of the Map page if the area is highlighted.
