Troubleshooting Missing Running Dynamics on a Garmin Watch
There are a number of possible causes for Running Dynamics to not appear as expected on your watch. Follow the below tips to ensure these metrics are recorded when out for a run:
Confirm that you are using a Garmin accessory that is capable of recording Running Dynamics information in conjunction with a compatible watch. This includes the HRM-Fit™, HRM-Pro™, HRM-Pro™ Plus, HRM-Run™, and HRM-Tri™ monitor as well as the Running Dynamics Pod. For compatible watches, see: Garmin Watches That Work With the Running Dynamics Feature.
NOTE: Running Dynamics are not designed to be received on multiple watches paired to the same HRM-Pro. If you are running with more than one Running Dynamics-capable watch, ensure that only one watch is paired to the HRM-Pro.
Make sure your heart rate monitor (HRM) is paired to your watch. Refer to your owner's manual for pairing instructions.
If the watch cannot find the HRM, or it finds it briefly and then the connection is lost, it could be that the battery on the HRM is low. Replace the battery in the HRM (see: Battery Replacement Instructions for Premium Feature HRM Straps).
If you can see heart rate but not Running Dynamics, then it is likely that the module on the Heart Rate Monitor strap or RD Pod is upside down. To ensure that you are wearing the module in the correct orientation confirm the following:
The orientation of the Garmin logo on the module should match the orientation of the Garmin logo on the strap.
The logo on the HRM module should appear below the Garmin logo.
The orientation of the runner icon on the RD Pod is right side up.
After ensuring the guidelines are met, you should see Running Dynamics when recording your running activity.
