Lock On Road Feature Information

The Lock On Road1 setting under Routing preferences in found on many current outdoor handheld devices.

Enabling the setting locks the current location marker onto the nearest road. This will compensate for variances in the map position accuracy. Where normally the device may show you off to the side of the road in an area of low GPS accuracy the Lock On Road feature will keep your current position stuck to the road.

On the older Garmin mode devices, the Lock On Road feature can be found under the general Map Setup features. To find out exactly where your specific device can enable this feature, refer to your owner's manual.

1This feature requires a map with routable roads to work correctly.
