inReach Remote Troubleshooting Between zūmo XT or zumo XT2 and inReach Devices
The zūmo® XT and zūmo® XT2 GPS navigators can pair with a compatible inReach® satellite communicator via ANT+. Instructions to pair can be found in Pairing an inReach Device to a zūmo XT.
NOTE: The inReach device must have an active subscription before it will be seen by the zūmo device.
It is possible to lose the connection or experience problems trying to pair the two products. If you find that your zumo XT or zumo XT2 is unable to pair with the ANT+ enabled inReach communicator or is losing connection, consider the following:
Potential Causes of Wireless Signal Interference When Using an ANT+ Device
Electrical interference from computer monitors, televisions, other inReach devices, etc.
Electrical interference from nearby transmission power lines.
Magnetized items.
Common items including Wi-Fi routers, cordless phones, and microwave ovens all operate on or near the 2.4 GHz frequency ANT+ devices operate on.
Troubleshooting Pairing or Performance Issues
Ensure the connection is enabled on the inReach device and turn off verification.
- The verification setting found on many inReach devices is used for connecting to devices that require an extra step of verification to complete pairing.

Eliminate potential interference from the items listed above by moving away from those devices.
Eliminate potential interference from other ANT+ inReach devices by moving at least 32.8ft (10m) away.
You must be within the range of the desired inReach device (9.8ft or 3m).
Ensure the software is up to date on the zūmo XT or zūmo XT2 GPS and the inReach device.
- Power off the zūmo XT or zūmo XT2 and inReach device. Power them back on, and re-pair.
Restart the scan from the zūmo XT or zūmo XT2 and the device should automatically be detected and connect.
