Touchscreen Recalibration on a Garmin Automotive Device

If the touchscreen on your automotive device is inaccurate or not responding, it may need to be calibrated.

It is important to ensure that your device’s system software is up-to-date before attempting a recalibration. To update the system software of your device, download and run the Garmin Express program from the following link: Garmin Express

To Complete a Touchscreen Calibration:

  1. Start with the device powered off and unplugged from power supply.
  2. Press and hold your finger anywhere on the touch screen.
  3. Next, slide the power switch to the on position and then immediately slide it into the Lock position. (There is no need to wait for the screen to flash on or show the Garmin logo before moving the switch into the Lock position.)
  4. Release the touchscreen when the "Press Dot" appears
  5. Accurately touch the dots as they appear
    • The dots will change location
    • A stylus or pencil eraser may be used to accurately touch the dots
  6. Touch OK when "Calibration Complete" appears

The touchscreen is now calibrated. Repeat the above steps as needed.
