What is the ClimbPro Feature on an Edge Device
The ClimbPro feature helps manage your effort for the upcoming climbs on a course. Once a course is created and sent to your compatible device, ClimbPro allows you to view details about the climbs before and during your ride. This includes the number of climbs, when they occur, average gradient, and total ascent. ClimbPro is dependent on the built-in map on Edge® cycling computers, so ensure your Edge's map is up to date. Refer to Current Versions of TopoActive Maps for more information.
NOTE: Newer Edge models offer ClimbPro while riding without a course in addition to while navigating. For more information about this feature, see here .

How Does ClimbPro Determine a Climb?
The ClimbPro feature analyzes the course and identifies climbs based on the following criteria:
A climb must be a minimum of 500 meters in length.
The average gradient must be a minimum of 3%.
The climb score must be a minimum of 1,500
- Score = Length (m) x grade %
All three criteria must be met for a climb to be identified. If you are not seeing any climbs but your course has elevation data, it indicates it does not meet all three requirements above. If there are flat sections or descents in the climb, ClimbPro will still treat it as a single climb if the average grade is 3% or more.
Once identified, climbs are categorized based on the length and gradient, indicated by color:
