Solutions for GSC 10 Pairing Issues

When using the Speed/Cadence Sensor (GSC 10) with a Garmin fitness device, it is possible to lose connection and experience problems trying to pair the accessory. If a Garmin fitness device is unable to pair with the GSC 10, consider the following:

  • Activate Speed/Cadence sensor option within menu of device. (See owner's manual for your device).

  • Restart scan for Speed/Cadence Sensor.

  • Change battery in device (see GSC 10 Instructions for additional details).

  • Update fitness device software.

  • Ensure GSC 10 wheel and crank magnets are aligned properly (See GSC 10 Instructions).

  • Press reset (white button) on GSC 10 and watch for a red and green flash.

  • If appropriate light does not flash as the wheel or crank magnet passes (Red for crank, green for speed) then magnet will need to be moved closer to sensor. (Will only flash for about 10 seconds after pressing the button).

If issues persist after attempting the troubleshooting steps above, continue with the recommendations below:

  1. Remove battery from GSC 10.

  2. Wait 10 minutes to allow sensor to discharge completely (Alternatively you can insert a small coin in place of the battery ensuring that coin bridges both contacts which will immediately discharge sensor).

  3. Place battery back into sensory with positive side facing up.

NOTE: Do not flip the battery upside down as this could cause the battery to become stuck, or damage the sensor.

Be sure to restart the scan for the GSC 10 once the steps above have been executed. Refer to the owner's manual for instructions on pairing a fitness GPS with the ANT+ accessories, if needed.
