Garmin Boat Switch Installation Positioning
When installing the Garmin Boat Switch, it must be mounted in a location where it will not be submerged and in such a way that water will not pool within the plugs. The X1 and X2 harness plugs must point down and a service/drip loop must be created in the NMEA 2000 drop cable to prevent water intrusion.
