Vehicle Compatibility for the VIRB X/XE OBD2 Data Relay

The OBD2 Data Relay is a sensor that connects to a compatible vehicle and can transfer sensor data such as RPMs, torque, throttle position, and more to the VIRB® X or VIRB® XE action cameras. This information can then be added as a data field in the recorded video using the VIRB Edit software.

Whether or not a vehicle has an OBD2 port depends on the region the vehicle is from and the year it was manufactured. All vehicles that meet these specifications should be OBD-compliant and have an OBD2 port to plug the Data Relay sensor into:

  • USA - 1996 and newer
  • Canada - 1998 and newer
  • Europe - 2001 and newer (petrol), 2003 and newer (diesel)
  • Japan - 2002 and newer
  • Australia - 2006 and newer

For more information about your vehicle's OBD2 port refer to the manufacturer or owner's manual for your specific vehicle.
