Extending the Battery Life of an Automotive Device

The battery life on Garmin's automotive devices can be affected by multiple factors. To check your device's expected battery life, visit the product's page on the Garmin® website and click on the Specs tab.

To Maximize the Battery Life of Your Device and Avoid Seeing the "Low Battery" Message, Try Some of the Following Procedures:

• Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which may prevent the device from charging when connected to the vehicle power cable.

• Adjust the brightness to a dimmer setting.

• Adjust the volume to a lower setting.

• Disable Bluetooth when not being used, if applicable.

• Limit the usage of extra features such as Bluetooth while using the internal battery.

• Disable Wi-Fi when not being used, if applicable.

When possible, use the Garmin-branded vehicle power cable to power the device instead of using the internal battery power.
