Getting Started With the inReach Messenger Plus

If you are setting up an inReach® Messenger Plus satellite communicator for the first time, the following steps will walk you through the process to help you get the most out of your new Garmin device.

Setting up the inReach Messenger Plus

When powering on the Garmin for the first time, you will be prompted to configure some settings and activate with an inReach subscription.

1. Power on by holding on the right side of the device.

   SOS (Under Protective Cap)

   • Initiate or cancel an SOS request.

   POWER

   • Press and hold to turn the device on.

   • While powered on, quickly press to open the Power menu.

   • Press and hold to turn the device off.

   LEFT

   • Press to scroll through menus, pages, and settings.

   • Press and hold to return to the previous screen.

   OK

   • Press to choose an option or to acknowledge a message.

   • Press and hold to return to the home screen.

   • From the home screen, press to access quick actions like Check-in Messages and Start Tracking.

   • Press to open the options menu for the page that is currently open (if available).

   RIGHT

   • Press to scroll through menus, pages, and settings.

2. Choose your language by scrolling through the list using the or buttons, then press OK to select a language.

3. Pair your inReach Messenger Plus with your phone and activate an inReach satellite subscription using the Garmin Messenger™ app.
