Garmin Dash Cam Warm/Hot During Use
Garmin Dash Cams are designed for the automotive environment and are certified to meet the required international product safety and battery safety standards. It is normal and expected for a Garmin Dash Cam to become warm or hot and remain safe for use in warm climates with full sun exposure.
When the camera is operating in its upper temperature range, it can be hot to the touch. The device may feel too hot, just like a seat belt buckle, rearview mirror, or any other interior item in your vehicle. To prevent potential discomfort, limit contact and let the camera power down and cool off before handling it.
Always follow the device use and care instructions contained in the product Owner's Manual. See Specifications within the Owner's Manual for the maximum expected charging and operating temperature range.
