Syncing the Handheld

Before you can sync new data to the handheld, you must first pair it with the Garmin Explore app on a mobile device. For pairing instructions, see - Pairing a GPSMAP Series Handheld With a Phone or Tablet.

When the Garmin Explore app is opened or refreshed, it automatically syncs between the Garmin Explore website and the paired handheld when it is powered on. It can take a few moments for both to complete.

Syncs can also be performed manually with the steps below.

Important Notes

  • Ensure the same account is logged into on the Garmin Explore app that is also used on the Garmin Explore website.

  • The paired mobile device needs a data connection to sync to and from the Garmin Explore website and you must agree to allow Garmin to receive and store your data. For more details, see - Data Is Not Syncing From the Garmin Explore App to the Garmin Explore Website.

  • To sync to and from the Garmin Explore app, the handheld needs to be powered on and in range (about 10ft) of the paired mobile device.
