How to Reset the GPSMAP Handheld Devices
There are a few instances in which it is necessary to perform a full reset on a GPSMAP® handheld device, including the following:
Not receiving a satellite signal
Restoring the factory default settings
Not functioning properly
The information and steps below will walk you through backing up your data and resetting the follow GPSMAP models:

Before Resetting
If the device is not receiving a satellite signal or not functioning properly, it is best to try updating the device with Garmin Express™ program before resetting, if possible. For steps see - Updating the Software on Your Outdoor Handheld With Garmin Express.
Performing a full reset can cause loss of user data loss such as waypoints, routes, tracks, activities and geocaches.
It is recommended to back up important data before resetting.

Performing a Reset
Ensure the device is powered off.
Press and hold both PAGE and ENTER simultaneously.
Press the Power button to power the device on while continuing to hold PAGE and ENTER.
Release only the Power button when Garmin appears on the screen.
Release PAGE and ENTER once the Do you really want to erase all user data? or This will remove all saved user data message appears.
Arrow to Erase or Yes.
Press ENTER.
The device is now reset. You will want to take the device outside in a clear view of the sky for a minimum of 20 minutes to refresh satellite data.
