Troubleshooting Bluetooth on an Approach Z30 Range Finder
If you experience issues with your Approach® Z30 range finder making a Bluetooth® connection with either your phone or watch, first try removing the battery and then place it back in the device. This may allow your range finder to re-establish the Bluetooth connection. If the battery is no longer powering on the device see Replacing the Battery on an Approach Z30 Range Finder. If the issue persists, follow the steps below for troubleshooting instructions.
Phone Connection
It may be necessary to remove the Approach Z30 range finder from the Garmin Golf™ app and pair it once again to re-establish the Bluetooth connection.
Steps to Remove the Range Finder
Open the Garmin Golf app.
Select either
on an Android™ or More on iOS.Select Garmin Devices.
Select Approach Z30.
For Android press and hold on Approach Z30.
For iOS select
.
Select Remove Device.
Select Remove.
NOTE: The device may still be paired under the Bluetooth settings on your phone. You may have to remove the device from these settings as well. Settings can vary by your phone model, consult the owner's manual of your phone for specific steps to remove the range finder.
Steps to Add the Range Finder
Open the Garmin Golf app.
Select either
on an Android™ or More on iOS.Select Garmin Devices.
Select Add Device.
Select Approach Z30.
Select Start.
Select Connect It.
Select Finish to complete the process.
Watch Connection
If your compatible watch is not showing the Approach Z30 as connected try waking the rangefinder.
Access the Sensors & Accessories menu on your compatible watch.
NOTE: Some watches pair within their Golf Settings menu and do not have the option to view the Connected status.
Locate the paired Rangefinder.
Then press
to wake the Approach Z30.Wait for the status to show Connected.
If a Bluetooth issue remains with the watch check your owner's manual for steps to remove and add the rangefinder once again as a wireless sensor as this may properly re-establish the Bluetooth.
