Updating a Garmin Dash Cam with the Garmin Drive App

The Garmin dash cam software can be updated using the Garmin Drive™ App. The app checks for updates automatically after the app is paired with the camera. It will display a message when an update is available. See the device's owner's manual for instructions to pair the dash cam with the Garmin Drive app.

Touch Install Now and follow the on-screen instructions when an update is available.

To Update the Devices Manually:

1. Touch the Settings gear

2. Select your dash cam from within its Vehicle

3. Touch Check for Updates

4. Touch Install Now if updates are available

5. Touch Join (iPhone only)

The Garmin Drive app will begin updating the software. The dash cam will restart then resume recording.

A memory card in the device is required in order for Garmin Express to recognize the device and to provide the software update.  See SD Memory Card Sizes for Automotive Devices for compatibility. 

NOTE: microSD memory cards are not included with some Garmin Dash Cam devices.   Device packaging and the Specs product pages on www.garmin.com will advise which ones include them.
