Frequency of Updates to BirdsEye Images

Garmin offers the most recent images that our BirdsEye providers make available.

For BirdsEye Satellite Imagery, you can typically expect an update once a year1 in heavily populated areas. An update can usually be seen every two years1 in lesser populated areas. Updates to less populated areas do not apply to all regions, some regions may experience longer time-frames between updates.

In February 2020, BirdsEye Satellite Imagery was upgraded. Customers who have downloaded satellite imagery in the past will notice that the only available option now is BirdsEye Satellite Imagery Subscription V2. If you have older imagery under My Collection in your BaseCamp™ software, re-download the area for improved image quality.

As BirdsEye TOPO U.S. and Canada is designed as land feature information, it is not updated.

1These time-frames are estimated and there is no notification when an area will be, or has been, updated.
