InReach Tracking on the Alpha 300i
InReach® tracking on the Alpha® 300i dog tracking handheld is a great feature where people at home can follow your trip progress. Your friends can view you on a computer web browser or even a smart phone internet browser.
An active inReach subscription is required.
It works by uploading of your position coordinates periodically to the Iridium® satellite network.
The information is then sent to a Garmin provided website.
Each account has its own dedicated LiveTrack™ website URL or MapShare™ website URL to share with friends, depending on your account settings.
For more details on setting up LiveTrack, see - Setting up LiveTrack for inReach Devices in the Garmin Messenger app.
For more details on setting up MapShare, see - InReach Tracking and MapShare on the Alpha 300i.
You can share your dedicated website URL address with your friends via inReach Message (email or SMS text).
It can also be sent from within your account at explore.garmin.com.
By default, inReach tracking is set for uploading a tracking point every 10 minutes.
