Can I Charge My Varia During Use?

Certain models of Varia™ smart bike lights can be charged while in use without interfering with the proper function of the device. Varia devices with this functionality are listed below.

• Varia™ RTL515

• Varia™ RCT715

• Varia™ Vue

  • Will not charge in solid High intensity mode

Movement of air over the surface of the device will aid in cooling. No air movement or a high ambient temperature may cause the Varia to stop charging. This will be indicated by a flashing red device status LED. The Varia will continue to operate normally in this state but will not charge, and in some cases will reduce the intensity of the light or turn off to allow the device to cool. It will resume charging when it cools down sufficiently.
