How to Find the Serial Number on the Astro Handheld Tracking Systems

To locate the serial number on the Astro® dog tracking handheld. 

1. Lift up the metal D-ring on the back of the handheld.
2. Turn the D-ring a quarter turn counter clockwise.
3. Lift the backing away from the handheld.
4. Remove the batteries from the handheld.
5. Inside the battery compartment wall you will find the serial number listed.

Using Garmin Express™ Program to Locate Your Serial Number

Another way to get the serial number from your Alpha handheld is using the Garmin Express program to electronically retrieve the serial number using your compatible computer. To start you will need to download the Garmin Express program here, Garmin Express. Once installed and opened,

1. Using the supplied USB cable connect the device to your computer.
2. If this is the first time you are using Garmin Express select Add Device follow the prompts to continue.
3. If your device was previously added select the device tile.
4. Select Tools & Content.
5. You will find the serial number listed in the Info tab.

Locating the Device Unit ID

In the setup menu of the device you can find the devices unit ID to help identify the device.

1. Press the Menu button twice to open the main menu.
2. Highlight Setup.
3. Press Enter.
4. Press Up to highlight About.
5. Press Enter.

The unit ID is displayed in the about menu.
