Using Check-in/Preset Messages with an inReach SE or Explorer

Check-in/Preset messages are a convenient way to send messages to a predefined group of family and friends.

IMPORTANT

Check-in messages have replaced preset messages as of September 27th, 2022. inReach® accounts set up prior to this date will still have preset messages available, but any new accounts created after this date will use check-in messages.

Sending Check-in/Preset Messages with inReach SE® or inReach Explorer® Handheld

1. Select Preset.
   
   NOTE: Alternatively, you can press and hold the X button to bring up Presets.
   
   
2. Select Send for message 1, 2, or 3.
   
   NOTE: If you have synced your inReach SE or inReach Explorer handheld, a brief summary of each Preset message will be displayed.
   
   
3. Ensure the inReach handheld is outside in a clear view of the sky for the message to send.
