Understanding the Battery Life of the Garmin Swim
Based on typical use, the battery should last approximately one year. Battery life depends on how much time the watch spends in the various modes (swimming, sleep mode, etc.) and also how frequently certain functions are used, like the backlight. User testing was performed to determine typical usage patterns that are used to predict battery life.
There are various levels of battery warnings:
- First level (battery starts to get low) - backlight will not turn on and instead a Low Batt message appears; get beep and message every hour; battery icon above Time of Day turns on.
- Second level - Receive a 3 seconds pop-up when go to Time Mode; still able to do a swim and download activity.
- Final level - If warnings are ignored, watch will reset and will not start back up (blank screen) when attempting to start a session.
Once a new battery is replaced, the watch will begin working as normal.
