Pairing a Bluetooth Phone With Your Automotive Device

You can use your device with your cell phone by pairing them. This allows you to make and receive phone calls through your Garmin device.

Note: The instructions below will only allow you to use Bluetooth for phone calls. Live services and traffic will not work. Garmin recommends using the dēzl™ App when connecting to your smartphone via Bluetooth for extra features like traffic updates. See Setting up/Pairing the dēzl™ App Traffic on a Compatible dēzl™ for instructions.

To Enable Bluetooth on Your Device:

  1. Set your phone to "Find Me" or "Discoverable" mode before you begin. Refer to the owner's manual for the phone if you are not sure how to do this.
  2. Touch Settings
  3. Touch Wireless Networks
  4. Touch Bluetooth
  5. Toggle the switch on

Your device will now be ready to pair with a phone.


To Pair and Connect the Phone With the Device:

  1. Touch Settings
  2. Touch Wireless Networks
  3. Touch Bluetooth
  4. Touch the name of the desired phone from the list of compatible Bluetooth devices in the area
  5. Enter the passkey displayed, if prompted
  6. Touch Pair

A message should display about the Garmin device successfully pairing with the phone. The device and phone will automatically connect in the future when within range.
