Powering an inReach SE or Explorer On and Off
To ensure that an inReach SE® or inReach Explorer® satellite communicator is not accidentally powered on or off the process to turn a device on or off requires two steps. A user must first initiate and then confirm to power on or off their device using the instructions below.
Powering On an inReach SE or inReach Explorer Communicator
IMPORTANT
To prevent unintentional battery drain due to accidentally powering on an inReach® communicator the Power On screen will only display for 5 seconds before the inReach device automatically powers down. Make sure to complete these steps before 5 seconds elapses.
- Hold down the Check on your inReach device until the Power On confirmation screen appears.
- Press the Left Arrow to highlight Power On.
- Quickly tap the Check to power on your inReach device. This will load to the main menu.
Powering Off an inReach SE or inReach Explorer Communicator
Follow the instructions below to power off your inReach device when you do not plan to actively use it to conserve the battery power.
- Press and hold the Check on your inReach until the Power Off screen appears.
- Press the Up Arrow on your inReach device to highlight Power Off.
- Quickly tap the Check to power the inReach off.
