Managing Garmin Dash Cam Videos from a Device with the Garmin Drive App

You can view, trim, save, and share your dash cam videos using the Garmin Drive app on your compatible smartphone.

For steps to connect your dash cam to the Garmin Drive app, refer to your owner's manual and search for “Pairing with Your Smartphone". 

To View a Video:

 1. Launch the Garmin Drive app

2. Touch Review Video of the dash cam within its assigned Vehicle

3. Select the desired video

  • Tap the select icon Drive app Select icon to choose what categories are displayed

4. When prompted select Connect or Join to connect to the dash cam's built-in Wi-Fi

  • On Android, touch Connect

To Delete, Trim, Export, or Share a Video:

 1. Select the desired video to view in the Garmin Drive app

Delete a video by touching and holding the video and then touching the  Trash icon.

2. Trim the video as desired by touching and dragging the arrows on either side of the timeline.

3. Touch Export to send the video to your phone's photos:

  • Export can take several minutes, depending on the length of the clip.
  • When finished, the app will show Export Complete 100%
  • Exported video will be accessible in your phone's photos.
    • Trimmed videos will be accessible in your phone's photos while the original untrimmed video will remain in its original location, Saved or Temporary, in the Gallery.
  • The exported video will be saved in the Garmin Vault for compatible dash cams:
    • Compatible Vault devices: The Garmin Dash Cam™ X110,, Garmin Dash Cam™ X210, Garmin Dash Cam™ X310, Garmin Dash Cam™ 47, Garmin Dash Cam™ 57, Garmin Dash Cam™ 67W, Garmin Dash Cam™ Mini 2, Garmin Dash Cam™ Mini 3, Garmin Dash Cam™ Live, Garmin DriveCam™ 76, and CamperCam, and RVcam 795.
    • The Vault will upload the video when connected to an active Wi-Fi connection or via your smartphone's cellular connection when this feature is enabled. 
    • Uploading takes some time and is not immediate. 

Export Video

4. To share video do one of the following:

  • Go to your Photos on your phone, select the desired video, select your phone's share icon, and select the desired sharing option from those your phone displays.
  • Go to the Garmin Vault for compatible Vault devices, select Secure Share, and follow the prompts.  See Using the Vault Storage with a Garmin Dash Cam Device for more information
