Receiving the Error Message "No Roads Near Starting Point" on an Automotive Device
There could be several reasons why an automotive device may display the error "No roads near starting point," including outdated system software, difficulty acquiring satellites, or simply having the incorrect map installed.
To Resolve This Error Message:
- Update the device's system software
- Go to the Garmin Support Center link: HELP STARTS HERE
- Enter your device product name
- Click on the Software tab on the left panel under your product name for instructions to update
- Allow your device to acquire a satellite signal
- Check the map information page (instructions in owner's manual) on your device to make sure you are using Garmin routable mapping such as:
- City Select
- City Navigator
- City Navigator NT
