Removing or Canceling an inReach Device from the Explore Website

Personal inReach® accounts can only have one active inReach satellite communicator assigned to the account user at a time, and do not have the ability to add additional users. If you need to have multiple inReach devices active simultaneously, you will need to create a separate personal account for each inReach device.

Options for teams, businesses, or professional organizations: A Professional inReach subscription is required. Switching to a Professional account will make managing multiple users and devices easier and open the door to communication and tracking features that improve your inReach experience. If you have already added another inReach device to your account, you will need to follow the steps below, depending on if you activated a subscription for the inReach device.


My inReach Device Has Not Been or is Currently Not Activated

  1. Log into your account at explore.garmin.com.

  2. Select the PLANS & DEVICES tab.

    • NOTE: On mobile browsers, select Two Horizontal Lines Icon in the top left, then PLANS & DEVICES.

  3. Select Manage Device next to the inReach device you wish to remove.

  4. Select Remove.

  5. Select the profile icon in the top right of the page.

  6. Select Sign Out.

  7. Create a new, separate account for the device by following the steps in How to Activate an inReach Subscription.


My inReach Device is Currently Active

IMPORTANT: Any communication feature with the iridium network, including triggering an SOS, will not function after cancelling the service. Make sure no one is using the inReach until you have reactivated the inReach on the new account.
  1. Log in to the Subscription Portal.

  2. Select MANAGE on the subscription you want to cancel.

    Be sure to check the device serial number listed under the subscription name.

  3. Select CANCEL PLAN.

  4. If you are currently on an Essential, Standard, or Premium plan you will be prompted with an option to switch to an Enabled plan.

    If you still wish to cancel, select CONTINUE WITH CANCEL.

  5. Select CANCEL IMMEDIATELY when prompted to finalize cancelling service.

  6. Select the profile icon in the top right of the page.

  7. Select Sign Out.

  8. Create a new, separate account for the device by following the steps in How to Activate an inReach Subscription.
