Using the Satellite Information Page on a Garmin Catalyst Device

The Satellite Information page displays the strength of the satellite signals you are receiving and your GNSS accuracy. Generally, the accuracy of your device will range from 1 to 2 meters, or 3 to 6 feet. It also displays the coordinates (latitude and longitude), speed, and elevation of your current location.

To access the Satellite Information page on the Garmin Catalyst, touch the satellite reception bars in the middle, at the top of the main screen.

If the satellite has an ephemeris data (used to calculate the position of each satellite in orbit and information about the time and status of the entire satellite constellation) the bar is colored based on the SNR (signal to noise ratio) value for that satellite.  Meaning the larger the number/height of the bar, the better the accuracy for that satellite.

  • Transparent - Not connected
  • Red – (0, 10)
  • Orange – (10, 20)
  • Yellow – (20, 30)
  • Green – 30 and up
