Map Missing or SD Card Not Read on a Honda Gold Wing

See the troubleshooting below if your Honda Gold Wing (2006-2008) appears to be missing the map or the device is not reading the map SD card:

  1. Check the map information to see if the map card is being read
  2. Remove and reinsert the SD/CF Card

  3. Ensure you are using the correct map region SD card

    • North American Honda Gold Wing model years 2006-2008 will update using a preloaded CompactFlash (CF) memory card
      • The update will include two CF cards; one containing the mapping of the Lower 49 States and the other containing the mapping of Canada, Alaska, and Border States
      • Ensure you are using the card for the appropriate region
    • You cannot use a United States map update card in a bike purchased in another market and vice versa
  4. Perform a hard reset on the Gold Wing box
  5. Visit a Honda Gold Wing dealer
