Additional Troubleshooting:
If the steps above did not resolve the issue see the recommended troubleshooting below:
Pairing mode triggers a Bluetooth beacon signal that the Garmin Connect app looks for. The display on your Garmin device should show a pairing animation when pairing mode is triggered. On your Garmin device, access the settings menu and then Bluetooth or phone options to enable pairing mode. Also ensure your Battery Saver mode is turned off. If you cannot find these setting, refer to your owner's manual.
We do not recommend having your device paired to multiple smartphones or tablets. If your device has been previously paired to another device we recommend removing it from that other smartphone or tablet. For help see: Remove and Add a Device From the Garmin Connect App.
If the Garmin Connect app did not initially find your device and you selected your model to pair to, confirm you have selected the correct model. If you are unable to locate your specific Garmin model name when browsing all compatible devices, see: Why Isn’t My Device Listed in the Garmin Connect App?
Android users have a Nearby Devices Permission setting found on phones running Android 12 or higher that is enabled by default. If this setting is disabled the Garmin Connect app will not find your device during the pairing process. To check this setting see the below steps.
Open the Garmin Connect app.
Select More (bottom right).
Select Settings.
Select Phone Permissions.
Select Manage Permissions.
Select Permissions.
Select Nearby devices permission.
Confirm option to set to Allow.
A restart of the phone will re-initialize the Bluetooth and may clean up the communication for pairing.
