Customization Options for Garmin Instinct 2X Series Watch Face

The Instinct® 2X series watches offer ten pre-loaded unique watch faces, with a color inverted option of each. Additionally, each watch face has the ability to customize what data or symbols to display. The selected watch face may change what can be customized, what options are available or how the data appears. Depending on the watch face, you will have two to seven data customization options.

Customizing the Watch Face

From the watch face, hold UP/MENU.
Select Watch Face.
Press UP/MENU or DOWN/ABC to preview the watch face options.
Press GPS to select the desired watch face:
- To activate the watch face, select Apply.
- To customize the data that appears on the watch face, select Customize.
  1. Press UP or DOWN to preview the options.
  2. Press GPS to apply.
  3. Complete for all available data fields until you see a check in the dial screen.

The Garmin Instinct 2X series offers a unique display with a dial screen in the top right corner to isolate different data options. For more information on the Dial Screen options, select Dial Screen below.

Dial Screen

The following options are available on most of the watch faces. Many of these options can be viewed on the other data fields outside of the dial screen.

	Status Icons Displays current battery life, if the watch is set to Do Not Disturb, if an alarm is set, and if it is paired with a phone.
	Battery Life Displays the remaining battery life.
	Weekday and Day Displays the current calendar date and day of the week.
	Day and Month Displays the current calendar date and month.
	Heart Rate Displays the reading taken from the optical heart rate sensor (OHR). OHR sensor must be on to get a reading.
	Steps Displays daily step count.
	Elevation Displays your current elevation.
	Barometer Trending Line and the Barometer Reading Will display the current barometer pressure in millibars. The barometer trend line considers the last 6 hours, broken into two 3 hour segments. If there is a 2.3 millibar change over the 3-hour segment, the line will curve up or down depending on the direction of change.
	Sunset/Sunrise Displays Sunset/Sunrise time.
	Notifications Displays the number of notifications. Notifications number won't be cleared until they are cleared from the phone.
	Calendar Notifications Display the number of calendar notifications for the day.
	Weather Displays the weather information received from the Garmin Connect App.
	Calories Burned Displays total calories burned for the day.
	Floors Climbed Displays floors climbed for that day.
	Intensity Minutes Displays the number of intensity minutes generated for the week.
	Pulse Ox Displays the last pulse oximeter reading.
	Weekly Run Total Displays distance of all running activities for the week, except Trail Run.
	Weekly Cycling Total Displays distance of all cycling activities for the week.
	Universal Time Coordinated Displays Universal Time Coordinated (UTC). UTC is the successor to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
	Solar Intensity¹ Displays current solar intensity and fills in as solar intensity increases.
	Sun Position Displays the current position of the sun.
	Moon Phase Displays the current phase of the moon.

There are three watch faces that offer a graph data field. The small graph watch face offers all the Dial screen options listed above. The Large Graph watch face offers only four¹ of the Dial screen options. Information on the graphs and what options are available can be found by selecting an option below.

Small Graph Watch Face

The small graph watch face offers a graph displayed in the top left corner. There are two watch face options that offer the small graph. Other data field options that can be customized are located below the current time.

	Barometer Graph Displays current barometric pressure and graph showing the change of barometric readings over the last four hours
	Elevation Graph Displays current elevation and graph showing the change of elevation readings over the last four hours
	Heart Rate Graph Displays current heart rate in beats per minute and graph showing heart rate readings over the last four hours
	Solar Graph¹ Displays graph of changes in solar intensity over the last six hours
	Steps Graph Displays total step count for the day and a bar graph showing steps generated over the course of the day by hour

Large Graph Watch Face

The large graph watch face offers graphs that display depending on the dial screen option that is selected. This watch face offers a limited amount of dial screen options. There are two other data field options that can be customized, located above the current time and below the graph.

	Altimeter Graph Displays current barometric reading, barometric trending line, and a graph showing the change of barometric readings over the last six hours. Displays the current barometer pressure in millibars. The barometer trend line considers the last 6 hours, broken into two 3 hour segments. If there is a 2.3 millibar change over the 3-hour segment, the line will curve up or down depending on the direction of the change.
	Elevation Graph Displays the current elevation based on unit settings and a graph that displays change.
	Heart Rate Graph Displays the current heart rate and a graph showing the change of heart rate over the last four hours.
	Solar Graph¹ Displays graph of changes in solar intensity over the last six hours.
