How Does the Store and Forward Feature on My Heart Rate Strap Work?
Select heart rate monitor (HRM) straps feature the ability to store up to 18 hours of heart rate data and forward it to a watch later. The feature is used for when your paired watch cannot receive data in real-time or when is it out of range of the HRM strap. Examples include when you are swimming or when the watch is taken off during team sports or martial arts.

Using Store and Forward
To use store and forward, put on your HRM strap and start a timed activity on your watch. At the end of the activity, the watch will automatically begin searching for stored heart rate data and download it from the HRM strap if the following occurred:
There was an HRM strap paired to the watch when the activity was started.
There is missing heart rate data from the recorded activity.
NOTE: Store and Forward should not be used for any activity when your watch is receiving real time heart rate throughout, such as running or cycling.
The Data From My Strap Was Not Downloaded to My Watch
NOTE: The Store and Forward feature will only provide heart rate data. Other data such as Running Dynamics, respiration rate, steps, and some physiological metrics like VO2 max or stamina require the watch and heart rate monitor to be connected and remain in range during the entire activity.
To handle any cases where stored heart rate data was not downloaded post-activity, there is an option to manually cue the watch to download heart rate.
Manually Downloading Heart Rate Data to a Watch
Put the heart rate strap on.
From the watch, access the settings menu.
Select History.
Select the Activity.
Select Download Heart Rate.
When heart rate data is manually downloaded, a second activity file is created with the stored heart rate. You may have to manually upload this second file to the Garmin Connect™ online network. This will result in having two of the same activities: one without the stored heart rate and one with the heart rate. The activity that does not display heart rate data can be deleted.
