Forerunner 405/405CX/410 Will Not Power on or Take a Charge

If a Forerunner 405, 405CX or 410 is unable to power on or charge, a hard reset can be performed to unfreeze it. This will not erase any user data, and it is most effective if the device is connected to the computer while performing the reset.

To Reset the Forerunner:

  1. Connect device to computer using charging clip
  2. Press and hold Start/Stop and Lap/Reset for 10 seconds
  3. Release and wait 3 seconds for device to power on

After the reset, it is recommended to allow the device to fully charge.
