Using a Wi-Fi Device on a Captive Portal

Captive Portals are customized login pages that require users to pass through before connecting to the Wi-Fi network. Common locations that have Captive Portals are airports, coffee shops, and hotels. Often an 'agree screen', requiring agreement to the network provider's terms and conditions, is displayed on the device connecting to Wi-Fi.

Most Garmin Wi-Fi devices are not able to display the agree screen to allow you to accept or agree to the terms of use in order to connect to a Captive Portal. Please use a Wi-Fi connection that does not require the use of a Captive Portal.

Devices with web browsers are able to display the agree screen and are compatible with using Captive Portals.

NOTE: Not all captive portals will be compatible with Garmin devices.
