Approach G6, G7, or G8 Rebooting or Freezing
If a Garmin Approach® golf handheld is freezing or rebooting there are a number of troubleshooting steps that can be performed to resolve the issue.
Performing a Soft Reset on the Approach Device
If the Approach is frozen, attempt a soft reset by pressing and holding the Power button for up to a minute or until the screen goes blank.
Deleting Corrupt Files From the Approach
Potentially corrupt files can be deleted from the Approach device if it continues to freeze or reboot.
- Connect the Approach device to the computer.
- Open the Approach as a storage drive on the computer.

Located in Finder on Mac. - Open the Garmin folder.
- Open the Data folder.
- Delete the Scorecards folder.
NOTE: Empty the Trash if on a Mac.

Performing a Factory Reset on the Approach Device
A factory reset may also prevent the Approach device from continuing to freeze or reboot.
