Creating a Route Using Route Planner on the Montana 700 Series

The Montana® 700 series handhelds have a Route Planner feature that allows you to easily create routes using either direct paths between points or calculated routing to follow available roads and trails.

NOTE: If Route Planner is not a listed application on your device, it can be added to the main menu. For steps, see - Options Are Missing From the Main Menu on My Outdoor Handheld.

Creating a Route Using Route Planner

A route can include many waypoints, and it should include at least a starting point and one destination.

  1. Select Home to access the main menu.

  2. Select Route Planner > Create Route > Add Point.

  3. Select a category.

  4. Select the first point in the route.

  5. Select Add.

  6. Select Add Point to add additional points to the route.

  7. Select back arrow in bottom left corner (if necessary)

  8. Select Done.

  9. Edit the route name if necessary, and select Check Mark to save the route.
