What Golf Simulator Features Are Available With My Approach Launch Monitor?

The golf simulator (golf sim) feature allows you to simulate playing from more than 42,000 golf courses, or hit on a virtual driving range using either an Approach® R10 or Approach® R50 launch monitor. See below for steps to access the Golf Sim features available for your device.

Approach® R10 Golf Sim Options

Using the Garmin Golf™ app you can access multiple Golf Sim features when paired with your Approach® R10. See below for steps to access these features:

1. Open the Garmin Golf app.

2. Select .

3. Chose from one of the following options to record your virtual round:

   • Select Home Tee Hero to play a virtual round from a list of available courses.

   • Select Practice to improve your game at the virtual range.

   • Select Weekly Tournament to compete with other golfers from around the world.

   • Select Other Simulators to connect to and use a compatible simulator app such as:

     • TruGolf® E6 Connect

     • Awesome Golf

     • Creative Golf 3D

     • The Golf Club 2019

     • GSPro Software

Approach® R50 Golf Sim Options

Here are the different Golf Sim options available:

1. Select Practice to improve your game at the virtual range.

2. Select Play to access the following modes:

   • Home Tee Hero allows you to play a virtual round from a list of available courses.

   • Weekly Tournament allows you to compete with other golfers from around the world.

3. Select Connect to access the following Golf Sim modes: 

   • Awesome Golf

   • E6 Connect

   • E6 Apex

   • GSPro

Golf Sim Details

Home Tee Hero (Virtual Round)

A virtual round can be played by selecting from more than 42,000 available courses. Up to four players can participate in a virtual round using a single Approach launch monitor and Garmin account. A Garmin Golf app membership is required for this feature. For more information, see the Home Tee Hero Mode section of your owner's manual.

NOTE: Scorecards saved for virtual rounds record separately from scorecards recorded by other Garmin golf devices that use GPS, and they are not applied to Course and Performance Stats.

Driving Range

Improve your golf game by tracking detailed statistics of your shots at a virtual driving range. You can even record videos of your swings to review after completing the round. Weekly Tournament

You can participate in weekly virtual tournaments against other players. Your score for the virtual tournament is posted to a leaderboard where you can see how your score stacks up against others. A new course is chosen each week. You can play in each weekly tournament as many times as you would like to improve your score. A Garmin Golf app membership is required for this feature.

NOTE: Rounds recorded in virtual tournaments using the Approach R10 or Approach R50 monitor will not compete against rounds recorded using the Approach G80 device.
