Screen Timeout Setting on a Lily, Vivomove, or Vivosmart Series Watch

The Lily® and select vívosmart® and vívomove® watches have a timeout setting that allows you to set the length of time before the screen backlight turns off. A longer timeout will allow the backlight to stay on longer but will decrease battery life, while a shorter timeout will cause the backlight to stay on for a shorter amount of time but will increase battery life. Since these watches do not feature an always-on display option, changing your timeout settings can help you manage how long the screen stays visible.

Lily® Watches

To adjust the timeout setting using your Garmin Connect™ account, select your preferred platform below.


Garmin Connect App Instructions

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Access the menu by selecting More (bottom right).

  3. Select Garmin Devices.

  4. Select your Lily.

  5. Select Appearance or System.

  6. Select Display or Display Options.

  7. Select General Use, During Activity, or During Sleep (Lily®2 Active only).

  8. Select Timeout.

  9. Select your preferred timeout length.

  10. Back out of the settings to save your changes.

  11. Sync your watch to apply the changes.


Garmin Connect Web Instructions

NOTE: The steps below are not available for the Lily® 2 or Lily® 2 Active. Refer to the steps above using the Garmin Connect App. 

  1. Sign into Garmin Connect web from a personal computer.

  2. Select Devices & Sync Status Silhouette of a watch (top right).

  3. Select your Lily.

  4. Select Appearance.

  5. Beneath Display Options, select your preferred Timeout length from the dropdown menu.

  6. Select Save Settings.

  7. Sync your watch to apply the changes.

vívomove® HR Watch

To adjust the timeout setting from the watch see: vivomove HR Display Settings.

To adjust the timeout setting using Garmin Connect, select your preferred platform below.


Garmin Connect App Instructions

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Access the menu by selecting More (bottom right).

  3. Select Garmin Devices.

  4. Select your vivomove HR.

  5. Select Device Settings.

  6. Select Display Options.

  7. Select Auto-On Display.

  8. Select your preferred timeout length.

  9. Back out of the settings to save your changes.

  10. Sync your watch to apply the changes.


Garmin Connect Web Instructions

  1. Sign into Garmin Connect from a personal computer.

  2. Select Devices & Sync Status Silhouette of a watch (top right).

  3. Select your vívomove HR.

  4. Select Device Settings.

  5. Beneath Device Display, select your preferred Timeout length from the dropdown menu.

  6. Select Save Settings.

  7. Sync your watch to apply the changes.

  4. Select vivomove Trend.

  5. Select Display.

  6. Select Timeout.

  7. Select: Short, Medium, or Long.

  8. Sync your device.

The timeout setting can only be adjusted using Garmin Connect. Select your preferred platform below.
