Exchanging a Garmin Catalyst

When an exchange is necessary for the Garmin Catalyst™ Driving Performance Optimizer, it is important to sync information and export videos to minimize data loss between devices. Any session data synced to the Garmin Catalyst™ App will still be available. This will include drive session and performance data, as well as lap data.

The following information will be lost and need to be recreated or re-entered on the replacement device:

  • Driver Profile(s)
  • Car Profile(s)
  • Customized settings
  • Custom tracks and custom track configurations
  • Sign in information for linked Garmin account
  • Session data along with any session videos that are not exported with or without data overlays.

The Garmin Catalyst does not have the ability to import or export session data. Data cannot be shared or transferred from one Garmin Catalyst to another.

Before sending in your Garmin Catalyst, it is recommended to remove any memory cards in either the side slot or under the back panel on the device. For steps to remove the memory card under the  back panel, see Replacing the Memory Card in the Owner's Manual. Any memory cards not removed before the device is sent back to Garmin Product Support cannot be returned, and as a result, any data on those cards will be lost.
