Adding and Managing Contacts for the Rino Series

Rino® handheld users can add other Rino handhelds as contacts so that you can see their position, navigate to their location, and send notes to them. To add a contact, all Rino handheld users will need to be on the same channel and code and press the Call key (top-left), then press OK or Save when the contact page appears. Rino 600/700 series handheld users will need to make sure that both parties have satellite reception before they attempt to add each other as a contact.

If a contact was cancelled or not added upon receiving their first transmission, the option to add that contact will not be present. There is a 30 second waiting period before the contact can be added again. After 30 seconds have passed, have the contact press the Call key. The option to add the contact should then appear on the Rino handheld.

Garmin Rino devices can manage a maximum amount of 50 contacts at any time. These contacts are updated each time a signal from a contact is received. The Rino 600/700 series handhelds will display all 50 contacts on the Map page. All other Rino models will show only the first 10 contacts.

It is not possible to back up or restore these contacts. If they are removed, contacts must be re-added by initiating a transmission on the other device and accepting the prompt to save the contact again.

For more specific instructions, refer to the owner's manual for your Rino.
