Edge 500 Showing Incorrect Date and Time
The Edge 500 uses a software algorithm, in conjunction with the GPS chipset, to determine the time and date displayed on the device. If your Edge 500 is showing an incorrect time and date or just an incorrect date, you will need to clear the non-volatile memory of the device.
NOTE: Clearing the non-volatile memory of the device will reset your Edge 500 to factory default.
- Power off the Edge 500.
- Hold the following buttons at the same time: POWER, PAGE/MENU, START/STOP.
- Keep holding while GARMIN appears on the screen.
- Once GARMIN starts to disappear, release the 3 buttons.
- Wait for device to restart.
Allow the Edge 500 to sit in an open area with a clear view of the sky for 30 minutes. This will insure your device has an appropriate amount of time to acquire satellites. Once satellites have been acquired, your device will show the correct date and time.
