Master Reset for the Alpha 200 Plus or Alpha 300 Series
There are a few instances in which you may want to reset your Alpha® 200 Plus or Alpha® 300 series dog tracking handheld to factory defaults, including the following:
- Not receiving a satellite signal
- Restoring the factory default settings
- Not functioning properly
Performing a factory reset will erase all saved data on the system.
Performing a Master Reset
- Ensure the device is powered off
- Press and hold the Top Button and Textured button simultaneously
- Continue to hold the top button and texture button while you power on the Alpha handheld
- Release the Power button only, when Garmin appears on the screen
- Release the other buttons once you see "This will remove all saved user data and restore the default settings. Personal GPS data, tracked devices and history, such as tracks and waypoints, will be removed. Continue?"
- Select Erase
The device is now reset and ready for use. Allow the device up to 20 minutes to acquire satellite data with a clear view of the sky.
Backing up and Restoring Previous Data
After a master reset you are able to restore previous data to your Alpha 300 or Alpha 300i handheld. This data will restore:
- Dog Lists and Groups
- Contacts
- Training Keys
