Changing the Proximity Alarm Units Setting on Outdoor Handhelds

The Proximity Alarm feature will alert you when you are within proximity to a certain location.

Changing the Proximity Alarm Units

Handhelds allow you to set the proximity alarm to a variety of distance measurements in both statute and metric (miles, feet, kilometers, etc.). The default setting is feet.

eTrex® 10, 20, 20x, 22x, 30, 30x, or 32x Outdoor Handhelds

  1. Press Menu twice to access the main menu.
  2. Select Proximity Alarms.
  3. Press Menu.
  4. Select Change Units.
  5. Select the desired unit type.

GPSMAP® 62, 64, 65, 66, 67, 78, 79, or 86 Series, and Rino® 700 Outdoor Handhelds

  1. Press Menu twice to access the main menu.
  2. Select Proximity Alarms.
  3. Press Menu.
  4. Select Change Units.
  5. Select the desired unit type.

Touchscreen Handhelds

  1. From the main menu, touch Proximity Alarms.
  2. Touch Three Bars Menu Icon.
  3. Touch Change Units.
  4. Touch the desired unit type.
