Changing or Cancelling the Sirius XM Subscription Coverage for My G1000 NXi

Sirius XM Subscription coverage is changed by calling Sirius XM customer service.  Changes in subscriptions are normally made when the avionics are powered on so that they can receive the inactivation signal for the current subscription, and then the reactivation signal for the new subscription. 

In some G1000® NXi flight deck equipped aircraft, the deactivation signal may not be recognized when using the above listed procedures.  In this case, you may need to make adjustments to your panel before calling Sirius XM. Once the aircraft is outside with a clear view of the sky, away from tall buildings or obstructions:

1. Remove the Flight Stream 510 avionics wireless interface card from the NXi.
2. Power on the avionics.
3. Call Sirius XM and ask that they complete a “Forced Deactivation”.

The avionics will need to remain powered on for the forced deactivation to be completed, so it may be advisable for the aircraft to be connected to auxiliary power. This process will terminate service for the previous subscription and allow Sirius to send the activation signal for the newly requested service.
