I Just Signed up for an inReach Subscription. Where Is My Invoice? When Will I Be Charged?
The invoice is generated and emailed upon completion of your service activation, this includes an activation fee along with the subscription fee for the first month of service.
Your credit card is charged within 24 hours of activation.
Your bill date is based on the activation date. The billing cycle ends at Midnight UTC.
What Day of the Month Will My Credit Card Be Charged?
The date of your service activation is your established renewal date. If you move up a plan the change takes place immediately and the new renewal date will now recur based on the date the service was upgraded. The renewal date recurs monthly and subsequently releases your monthly invoice. Your credit card is charged within 24 hours of your renewal date unless you make changes to your inReach service prior to your renewal date.
Why Did You Charge Me Again? I Only Signed up for 1 Month?
If you do not cancel your service subscription prior to your renewal date, the service subscription will automatically recur on your renewal date and you will be charged for an additional month at the current plan rate.
I Canceled My Plan and Have Some Unused Messages Left. Do I Get a Refund?
No, unused messages are not refunded.
Why Was I Charged for Another Month When I Upgraded My Service Plan?
When you upgrade your subscription, the plan change is effective immediately and the remaining prepayment is pro-rated based from your renewal to the date your upgrade will take effect. The difference of the pro-rated amount and the new service plan will be charged to you. Your new renewal date will now recur based on the date your service was upgraded.
I Did Not Use All of My Messages This Month. Will Unused Messages Roll-Over to the Next Month?
If your service is active on an Essential or Standard plan, unused text, photo, and voice messages will not roll-over into the next month. Customers with the Premium plan have unlimited text messaging, but unused photo and voice messages will not roll-over into the next month.
Why Is My First Invoice So High?
Your first invoice includes the Activation Fee, first month’s service costs, plus any applicable taxes and/or fees.
What Are the “System” or "Units" Items on My Invoice?
The System call type on your invoice represents when the inReach device is checking in with the satellite network and may also complete a Mail Check. The Units represent the number of bytes of data transmitted to the Iridium network.
Do I Have to Pay to Upgrade or Downgrade a Plan?
No, there are no additional fees to upgrade or downgrade a plan.
When Moving Up or Down a Plan, When Does the Change Take Effect?
Moving up a plan takes effect immediately and the remaining prepayment is pro-rated based from the renewal and any message overage will also be due. The new renewal date will now recur based on the date the service was upgraded. Moving down a plan will take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
Is There a Yearly Subscription Fee?
No. After the initial activation fee you are only paying the monthly service costs, plus any applicable taxes and/or fees.
Are There Fees if I Cancel My Plan After the First Month?
No, but you will be charged an activation fee if/when you choose to reactivate your device again in the future.
