Viewing Bureau of Land Management Township Ranges in BaseCamp or MapSource

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) township and range is a feature of Topo 24K maps.

Finding Township Ranges in BaseCamp™ Software

  1. Open BaseCamp.
    NOTE: 
    A TOPO 24k map must be selected to find this information. To change the map select Map, then select the TOPO 24k map you wish to view.  

  2. Select Find.

  3. Select Find Points of Interest.

  4. Click All Points of Interest drop down menu.

  5. Select Public Land Survey.

  6. Click All Subcategories drop down menu.

  7. Select Township/Range.


Finding Township Ranges in MapSource Software

  1. Open MapSource.

  2. Select Find.

  3. Select Find Places.

This will give an option to click on the Public Land Survey tab where you can enter the State, Township, Range and Section. Once these fields are entered, click on Find and the area will be highlighted.

Land Management Township Ranges will now appear in the search results.


Hiding Township and Range Information in BaseCamp Software

Township and Range information can be hidden in BaseCamp giving the ability to declutter what is seen on the map. This feature is only available on BaseCamp for Windows. 

  1. Open BaseCamp.

  2. Select Edit.

  3. Select Options.

  4. Select Activity & Profile

  5. Select the General Tab. 

  6. Under Map Display Features, click Select... 

  7. Click + next to Areas to expand the category.

  8. Click + next to Public Land Survey to expand the category.

  9. Deselect the box for Township/Range.

  10. Select Close.

  11. Select OK.
