StreetPilot c300 Series Device that will not Power On
If your StreetPilot c300 series device does not power on, or if it turns on then turns off, you can troubleshoot the problem by performing a soft reset, cleaning the brass contacts, or charging the device.
To reset the device:
- Place the device in the cradle and roll it backwards slightly to lock it in place
- Plug the vehicle power cable into the power outlet in the vehicle
- Turn the vehicle on
- Remove the plastic faceplate on the device
- Put your thumb nail in the groove under the Garmin logo and gently pull off the face plate
- Press the reset button on the right side
- The device should power on and go into Charge Mode
Turn the device back on. If the device still doesn't power on, you may need to charge it from a different power source.
To charge the device:
- Using the provided USB cable, connect the device to the computer
- Reset the device (following instructions above)
- Keep the device connected to the computer and allow it to charge overnight (8-12 hours)
- After charging, unplug the device and power it on
The device should power on and work properly.
To clean the brass contacts:
- Remove device from the cradle
- Locate the brass contacts on back side of the device below the bar code/serial number
- Thoroughly clean the brass contacts with a pencil eraser or a dry clean cotton swab
- Place the device back on the cradle
The device should now power properly from the vehicle.
