Changing the Screen Brightness on an Automotive Device/Dim or Black Screen
Some devices will not go above 40% brightness when they have low power. This FAQ may also be helpful if your device has a black screen or a very dim screen. To correct this, plug the device into a power source and follow the instructions below.
The device may have a different brightness level set when it is plugged in and unplugged. If the device goes dim when plugged into the vehicle, follow step 1 below before plugging it in. Once it is plugged in, if it goes dim, you can adjust the screen to brighten it using step 2.
The saved brightness level may also need to be adjusted for when the device is on the mount and off the mount. See the owner's manual for instructions to take the device on and off the mount.
